This is probably caused by a either a corrupt .lo file having been produced
or an old version of libtool being used. Since you're using Ubuntu 12.04,
the latter seems unlikely.
The first thing you should try is doing a "make clean" and then rebuilding.

Dear All,
I am trying to compile OpenRTM-Aist under ubuntu linux 12.04. configure runs without an error. When I run make I get an error saying
make[5]: Entering directory `/home/athos/install_virca/install/rtm_source/OpenRTM-aist-1.1.0/src/lib/coil/posix/coil' /bin/bash ../../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=link g++ -Wall -fPIC -O2 -no-undefined -release 1.1.0 -luuid -ldl -o libcoil.la -rpath /usr/local/lib Allocator.lo PeriodicTask.lo Properties.lo TimeMeasure.lo TimeValue.lo Timer.lo crc.lo stringutil.lo Condition.lo DynamicLib.lo Mutex.lo Process.lo Routing.lo Signal.lo Task.lo Time.lo UUID.lo -lpthread libtool: link: `Allocator.lo' is not a valid libtool object
Can anyone give me a hint what this can be?
Thank you!
